Obituary

Scott Foster Reid, 36, of Marysville, died Sunday, October 1, 2023.

He was born March 12, 1987 in Port Huron to Patrick J. and Colleen M. Reid. He married Taylor M. Yax on May 13, 2023 at the Fort Gratiot County Park.

Scott was a 2005 graduate of Marysville High School where he was a member of the swimming and football teams. His love of football continued after high school as he began to coach and watch his son play. Scott was also a HUGE lifelong Tom Brady fan. He enjoyed coaching wrestling, going to concerts, golfing, and playing in the Moose pool league, of which he was President for several years. Scott was employed with St. Clair Chrysler and previously worked at Moran Blue Water Chrysler. He was a member of Moose Lodge #158.

He is survived by his wife, Taylor; four children, Landon, Audrey, Delaney and Raelynn who will be born this month; his parents, Patrick and Colleen; two brothers, Lee (Heather) Reid and Joshua Reid; grandma, Norma Sutphen; his parents-in-law, Kenna (Daimon) Kata and Jason Yax; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Christian Vaughn (Hannah Bertrand), Kayla Yax, Kylie Vaughn (Seth Kimmel), Gage Yax, Meghan Crottie (Nick Vidoevski) and Jackson Yax; four nieces, Ana, Zelda, Ivianna and Korah; grandmothers-in-law, Pamela Thomas and Evelyn Yax; aunts and uncles, Janet (William) Rich, Kathy Reid (Jack Robson), Ron (Brenda) Reid, Richard (Darlene) Sutphen, LeeAnn (John) Hintz, Jason (Michelle) Sutphen, Glen (Christina) Yax and David Yax; several cousins; and many wonderful friends including Mike (Amanda) Cataldo, Sam Wells, Jason “Army” Armstrong, Matthew Boyd and Eric Duncan.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Joan Reid and Richard Sutphen.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Shaun Laurain will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
