Richard A Bitzinger

Richard A. Bitzinger, 67, of Marysville, died Wednesday, October 4, 2023.

He was born March 26, 1956 in Flint to the late Howard and Nancy Bitzinger. He married Eve Tan on May 5, 2018 in Marysville.

Richard received a Masters degree from the Monterey Institute on International Affairs. During his career as an independent national security analyst, he was Associate Professor at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies, Senior Fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies and was employed with various agencies, including, the RAND Corporation, the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Affairs and the US Government. He wrote numerous articles and papers discussing global military and aerospace security. His passion for international affairs and enjoyment of travel took him around the world, including Singapore, where he met his wife.

He is survived by his wife, Eve; two daughters, Amy Bitzinger and Jenny (Nick) Fetzer; three brothers, Bill (Amy) Bitzinger, Jeffrey (Brenna) Bitzinger and Kevin (Rabia) Bitzinger; and many nieces and nephews.
