Jerry Hunter Bell, 75, of Marysville, died Sunday, October 15, 2023 after a short illness.
He was born July 5, 1948 in Port Huron to the late Kenneth H. and Mary Ellen Bell. He married Gail D. Quaine on July 17, 1978 in Port Huron.
Jerry grew up in St. Clair and graduated from St. Clair High School in 1966, where he played tennis and basketball. He attended SC4, and then obtained a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy Science from Wayne State University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University. He also served in the U.S. Navy Reserves aboard the USS CV-14 Ticonderoga during the Vietnam War. Jerry spent his career as a Pharmacist. He began in 1975 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Mount Clemens, where he met Gail, and eventually transferred to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Port Huron, where he retired in 2011. Jerry loved family camping trips, boating, golfing, reading, and working on home improvement projects. He was a wonderful story teller and had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gail; four children, Carrie Bell, Jerry C. Bell, Michael (Annie) Bell and Andrew (Stephanie) Bell; three grandchildren; his twin brother, Kenneth (Marlene) Bell; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Shaun Laurain will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
Inurnment will be in the Riverlawn Cemetery Columbarium, Marysville.
