James M "Mike" Little
James Michael “Mike” Little, 70, of Kimball Township, died Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
He was born October 23, 1953 in Cleveland, Mississippi to the late Morris and Lavern Little and grew up in Drew, Mississippi. He married Marlane “Laney” Little on September 28, 2001 in Parker, Colorado.
Mike was an incredibly smart, athletic, and musically inclined child. Mike was so driven that he started college classes in 11th grade and left high school before his senior year to start full time at Delta State University. He was interested in computer programing and aeronautical systems and was recruited after graduation to work at Ball Aerospace in Boulder, Colorado. Mike then transitioned to the United States Air Force as a Cyber Security specialist contractor with Mantech and later converted to a civilian position. Mike worked at NORAD in Colorado Springs and the Pentagon in Arlington and Crystal City, Virginia working for Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) Special Projects (PJ). After retirement, Mike and Laney settled in Kimball Township to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his wife of 22 years, Laney Little, his four step children and their spouses, Shawn Mitchell (Darian), Ryan Jones (Karen), Kate Golembiewski (Matt), and Elizabeth Chung (Anthony); 9 grandchildren, Tristin, Alyssa, Mycala, Thomas, Kennedy, Walter, Micheal, Gabriel, and Adeline; one great-granddaughter, Everly; siblings, Ed Little (Nelda), Sheila Powell (Gene), Guy Little (Shelley); and several nieces and nephews.
Mike is predeceased by his parents, Lavern and Morris Little; brother, Jerry Little; and many beloved pets who were eagerly awaiting his arrival in Heaven.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 on Sunday, October 29, 2023 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home on Lapeer Avenue in Port Huron, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, October 30, 2023 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00am. Reverend Bill Kinnan will officiate. In honor of Mike’s favorite NFL team and typical attire, guests are invited to wear blue jeans and orange and blue colors.
Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township. Pallbearers will be Kate and Matt Golembiewski, Elizabeth and Anthony Chung, Shawn Mitchell, and Eric Golembiewski.
