Patricia L Evans

January 23rd, 1930 to November 3rd, 2023
Obituary

Patricia Louise Evans, 93, of Marysville, died Friday, November 3, 2023.

She was born January 23, 1930 in Worth Township to the late Russell and Verda Shell. She married Donald J. Evans on February 24, 1951 in Croswell and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2019 after 67 years of marriage.

Patsy graduated from Croswell High School in 1948 and then attended Cleary Business College. She was employed by Detroit Edison, Mueller Brass and the Port Huron Area School District for short periods before working part-time in the office for Mutual Security Life for many years, retiring in 1988. After retirement, she and Don enjoyed wintering in Lakeland, Florida. Patricia was a longtime member of Marysville United Methodist Church where she formerly served as Secretary and Chairperson of the Church Board and was a member of United Methodist Women. She worked on countless dinners and projects alongside her church sisters. Patsy was an excellent seamstress and quilter and taught many area women to lap quilt. She also enjoyed golfing and having her family for visits. It was her pleasure to serve family meals (porcupine meatballs and spaghetti) as often as possible, especially when celebrating birthdays. Patsy was a devoted wife, loving mother, perfect grandmother and cherished great grandma. Not a word of gossip ever came from her mouth. She was a trustworthy friend and as a strong woman of faith her mantra was “everything is going to be okay”.

Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34

She is survived by three children, Tim (Lou Ann) Evans, Mark (Jennifer) Evans and Julianne (Stephen) Christy; grandchildren, Shay Jakacki (Celeste Tovar), Marklyn (Nick) Behling, Megan (Jeffrey) Stencel, Alyson, Valerie and Lauren Evans; great grandchildren, Nora, Donald, Max, Owen, Wyatt, Evie, Logan and Emma; brother, R. William (Joan) Shell; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald L. Shell; and sister, Viriginia E. (Harold) Montgomery.
