Iner "Carl" Erickson

Iner “Carl” Erickson, 79, of Port Huron Township, died on Monday, November 13, 2023. He was born March 26, 1944 in Mount Clemens to the late Erma A. and Iner C. Erickson, Sr. He married Carol Ann Flood on December 2, 1967 in New Baltimore and they were married for 45 years before her death on May 19, 2013.

Carl was employed as a quality assurance manager for 30 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church and a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. Carl enjoyed volunteering at the Great Lakes Maritime Center and spending time in Lexington. He was an avid local hockey fan and often could be found helping out at the Prowlers games. More than anything, Carl loved spending time with his grandson, Draven.

He is survived by his son, Jon (JoAnn) Erickson; grandson, Draven Erickson; sister, Adele (Mike) Heinrich; sisters-in-law, Sandi (Mike) Oswald and Diane Fayed; brother-in-law, Mike (Paula) Flood; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private memorial service will be held in Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Additional honors will be provided by the United States Naval Sea Cadets F.C. Sherman Division.

Inurnment will be in the Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium, Port Huron.

Carl was a cat lover, so memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society.
