William Smith

William Eugene “Billy” Smith, 87, formerly of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 after a short illness.

He was born August 6, 1936 in Port Huron to the late Jefferson and Elizabeth Smith

Billy was an avid sports fan and loved playing sports from his early childhood on. In high school he ran track, played football and did some boxing, but his favorite sport was baseball.

Billy worked a number of jobs. He was employed at GM (Pontiac Motors), DTE and the city of Port Huron. He believed himself to be a great Mr. Fix-It and he could figure out how to repair anything.

Billy lived the majority of his life in Port Huron. He had recently moved to Meridian, Mississippi.

He leaves a host of family, loved ones and friends to cherish his memories. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Leola.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 24, 2023 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Mary Meadows will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
