Barbara J Bennett

Barbara J. Bennett, 81, of Fort Gratiot, went home to be with the Lord and her husband, Robert on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

She was born January 19, 1942 in Port Huron to the late Walter and Josephine Matthews. She married Robert J. Bennett on April 15, 1961 in Washington Avenue Methodist Church in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2007.

Barbara was a 1960 graduate of Port Huron High School. She was an avid bowler for many years and loved traveling the U.S. with her husband on their Goldwing. Barbara loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She retired from Port Huron Hospital on April 1, 2004 after 25 years and then worked casually at Huron Medical office, Port Huron Family Care, Wadhams Family Care and McMorran Place.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert (Sharon) Bennett of New Jersey and Joseph (Chris) Bennett of Minden City; granddaughter, Bri Bennett; grandson, Mitch (Liz) Bennett; great grandchildren, Joey, Brook, Brandon and Brooklyn; sister, Susan (Tom) Nutt; and many nieces and nephews, including Tommy, Peggy, Diane, Don, Dee, Kevin, Kim, Monique and Tanya. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two sisters, Nancy Baily and Darlene Kelly.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2023 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Pastor Bill Forbes will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Gratiot Township where she will rest next to her husband.
