Velma Rose Dove

Velma Rose Dove, 96, of Kimball Township, went home to be with the Lord Friday, November 24, 2023 after a long illness.

She was born March 31, 1927 in Goodells to the late L.G. and Rose Webb. She married the Reverend Laurence H. Dove on April 26, 1947 in Goodells. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2002 after 54 years of marriage.

Velma enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She attended Community Baptist Church for several years where her husband was the assistant pastor.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Dove; two sons, Dan Dove and the Rev. Rick (Brenda) Dove; 37 grandchildren and great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Ron Dove; granddaughter, Angie Jackson; great grandson, Ian Dove; and seven siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2023 in Community Baptist Church, Kimball Township with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend James Jones will officiate.

Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Wales Township. Pallbearers will be Ben Dove, Mike Dove, Rick Dove Jr., Ronnie Dove, Jeremy Jackson and Ryan MacDonald.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Baptist Church.
