Juanita Hernandez Reyna

June 23rd, 1935 to November 25th, 2023
Obituary

Juanita H. Reyna, 88, of Port Huron, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023.

She was born June 23, 1935 in Del Rio, Texas to the late Salvatore and Isabelle Hernandez. She married Moises Reyna on October 29, 1956 in Blytheville, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on February 6, 1998 after 41 years of marriage.

Juanita was a loving mother and grandmother and worked tirelessly to make sure her family knew they were loved, cherished, and cared for. Juanita took care of her beloved husband, during his lifelong illness, until he passed away in 1998. After his passing she devoted her life to her family and church. She was an esteemed member of Crossroad Christian Center where she followed her lifelong friends and mentors, Pastor Johnnie Johnson and his wife MaryAnn Johnson from Port Huron Assembly of God. Nothing was more important to her than God and family. She spent countless hours caring for her grandchildren and was often seen with them in tow at shopping centers and church. She was well loved by all who knew her and recognized by many within the local community.

Before her retirement, she was a longtime employee of Bundy Corp in Marysville, where she received many acknowledgements for being an exemplary employee. During her retirement, she volunteered her time as a foster grandparent for the St Clair County Council on Aging, who assigned her to work at the SC4 childcare center. This brought her great joy since she loved children and helping others. Juanita was an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved singing, dancing and playing the tambourine at church. Her warm heart and homemade Mexican food would bring family, and friends together like nothing else could. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by three sons, Moises (Nola) Reyna Jr., Alex Reyna and Alfonso Reyna; five daughters, Irene (Jay) Michels; Thelma (Glenn) Craze, Cindy (Tim) Hopp, Edna Cooley (Todd Hakola) and Magdalena Toole (Kevin Grubb); 29 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Lupe Pesina; two brothers, Juan Alvarez and Alex Alvarez; and several

nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin sons, Dennis and Daniel Reyna in 1969; her son, Jose in 2020; and many brothers and sisters.
