Robert W. Alexander

Robert Wayne Alexander, 89, of Marysville, died Saturday, December 2, 2023.

He was born on October 18, 1934 in Port Huron to the late Frances and Clayton T. Alexander, Sr. He married Sue SinClair on May 28, 1958 in Marysville. She died August 22, 2009.

Robert was a heavy equipment operator, then worked for TRW as a plumber’s pipe fitter, retiring after 37 years. Bob served in the U.S. Army in the early 1950’s with the Army of Occupation in Germany, and then in the Korean conflict. He was a life member of the VFW Post 6802, Richmond, member of the American Legion Post 449, Marysville, a life member of the Richmond Sportsman’s Club, Richmond Lodge 187 F. and A.M., and a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Marysville. Bob enjoyed fishing the St. Clair River for walleye and deer hunting and spending time at his property in Watersmeet, Michigan. But, the love of his life was being with his family and many friends.

Robert is survived by daughters, Julie and Betty Alexander; brother, Clayton T. (Lillian) Alexander, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Karen Alexander. Robert is preceded in death by his son, Joel; brother, Kenneth D. Alexander; and close friend, Joyce Hanzinger

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023 in the Marysville Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Michael Opfermann will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
