Robert "Bob" Emerick

Howard Robert “Bob” Emerick, 93, of Port Huron Township, died Tuesday, December 5, 2023.

He was born April 21, 1930 in Port Huron to the late Alexander and Dorothy Emerick. He married Rosemary Kelly on July 7, 1956 in St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2015 after 59 years of marriage.

Howard graduated from Port Huron High School and then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked part time in the dry-cleaning business since high school. He was also employed at American Tape for many years before his retirement and was a volunteer fireman and Assistant Chief for Port Huron Township Fire Department. He was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing

He is survived by his daughter, Marcia (Jim) Swick; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, December 9, 2023 in St. Paul Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Branden Hunt will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township.
