Lanny D Brown

Lanny Dale Brown, 77, of Worth Twp., died Sunday, December 24, 2023.

He was born June 1, 1946 in Marlette, Michigan to the late George and Bernice Brown. He married Pamela Budinger on March 23, 1966 in Jeddo.

Lanny graduated from Cros-Lex High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1966 to 1972, with a rank of Corporal. After the service, he worked as an engineer for Interlake, then for Huron Tool & Die for 29 years prior to his retirement. He received two patents and 3 co-patents for the Big Three. Lanny played little league baseball with the American Legion Indians, softball for Westbrook Hardware for many years, was on the Huron Tool bowling team and helped coach Babe Ruth and girls’ soft ball for Cros-Lex Varsity and Junior Varsity. He was very handy with everything, there was nothing he could not fix. He was also known as the “plan man” and had a short cut for getting places. Lanny enjoyed camping with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pam; children, Douglas Brown, Todd (Darlene) Brown and Megan Brown; grandchildren, Jarrett (Rachel) Brown and Hannah Brown (Luke Datema); sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda (Bob) Wessel, Debbie Budinger, Del Sherman, Larry Blaszczuk and Robert Steele; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Steele; brother, Douglas Brown; and sisters-in-law, Nancy Sherman and Kathy Blaszczuk; and brother-in-law, Bill Budinger.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Drew Mills will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Inurnment will be in the Woodland Cemetery Columbarium.
