Florence A Sayers
Florence Amelia Sayers, 94, of Port Huron, passed peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at the Blue Water Hospice Home on Friday, January 12, 2024.
She was born January 6, 1930 to the late William and Eva Beattie at the family home in Port Huron.
Florence was a LPN and worked for several years at Port Huron Hospital. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed reading, crosswords, and playing Po-Ke-No with friends. More than anything, she simply loved being with her family and friends.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Ed) McCabe; her son, Fred; her two grandchildren, Dana (Tony) Giancarlo and Jeffrey (Jenny) McCabe; her three great grandchildren, Brenley McCabe, Harper Giancarlo and Jack McCabe; three sisters-in-law, Donna Beattie, Gayle Emerson and Nancy Yeager; a brother-in-law, Gilford “Babe” Baker; many wonderful nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Janet Bonadio; and many dear friends including Joe and Jo Mancini.
Florence was preceded in death by a son, Steven Mancini; her mother and father; her step-father, John Yeager, who raised Florence after her father’s death when she was 6; and eleven siblings.
Per Florence’s request, cremation has taken place and private family services have been held.
Memorials to the Salvation Army, Blue Water Hospice Home, American Heart Association or American Cancer Society would be appreciated; or if you prefer, simply give a hug to someone and think of Florence, because she loved hugs!
