Robert L Pickering

Robert Leo Pickering Sr., 85, of Port Huron Township, died Sunday, January 14, 2024.

He was born April 27, 1938 in Leon, Iowa to the late Delbert and Doris Pickering. He married Barbara Ann Vought on August 2, 1958 in Port Huron.

Robert is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara; children, Terri (James) Fuchshofer, Cheryl (Brian) Ake, Robert (Renee) Pickering Jr. and Bret (Sherry) Pickering; grandchildren, Kelly (Jonathon) Crerar, James Fuchshofer, Joshua Ake, Andrew (Tara) Ake, Brianna (Varsal) Helms, Ashley Pickering, Guy Pickering, Fletcher Pickering, Jacob Pickering and Corey Hines; 9 great grandchildren, Claire, Kora, Jayden, Carson, Dylan, Hailey, Cameron, Dessiray and Kaylah; sister, Colleen Sloan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis (Janet) Pickering; and brother-in-law, Bill Sloan.

Private family services have been held.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
