Sharon E Chartrand

Sharon Elaine Chartrand, 92, of Marysville, died Friday, February 9, 2024.

She was born January 13, 1932 in Detroit to the late Oscar and Hazel Barr. She married Neil E. Chartrand on August 18, 1951 at Peace Lutheran Church in Detroit. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2022 after 71 years of marriage.

While Sharon was primarily a loving and supportive wife and mother, she was also gifted with the secretarial abilities of precision and accuracy. She used those skills working in the offices of Detroit Edison, a local attorney, and with her husband at the nursing home he built. She enjoyed researching family genealogy and was inspired to learn the German language after studying her ancestry. Sharon was a talented china-painter and loved tending to her gardens. She and Neil always loved to travel, and after his retirement, they became snowbirds and then full-time Ft. Myers residents before returning to the Blue Water Area late in life. Sharon was a longtime member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two children, Jeffrey (Karen) Chartrand and Cynthia Chartrand; daughter-in-law, Teresa Chartrand; grandchildren, Shawn (Mary) Fabian, Tera (Tom) Wenzlick, Neil (Leslie) Chartrand, Elizabeth Chartrand, Jonathan Chimner (Gabrielle Benjamin) and Evan Cochrun; great grandchildren, Damian Chartrand, Cassandra, Bryant and Gabrielle Fabian, Emily, Jacob, Nathan, Phillip, and Mason Wenzlick, Allison and Ryan Chartrand, and Charlie Chimner; and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Neil Chartrand.

Private family committal services will be held at the Hillside Cemetery Columbarium, St. Clair.
