Obituary

Janet Juanita “Porky” Davis, 65, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 8, 2024.

She was born March 29, 1958 in Port Huron to the late Hal Joe Jones and Janeaster Miller.

Janet was a retired beautician and health care worker. She loved shopping, traveling, getting pampered, playing bingo and going to church. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an online member of Restoration Christian Community Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing two children, Dionne Thigpen and Jason Thigpen; one daughter-in-law, Quantane Thigpen; two bonus children, Lazeigh Patterson and LeKeyah Patterson; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren with another one on the way; five brothers, Dale, Michael (Joann) Jerry and Douglas Jones, all of Port Huron, Kenneth Jones of Munich, Germany; two sisters, Karen Jones and Kimberly Miller-West of Port Huron; three uncles, Bob Jones, Bob Bowman and Eugene Jones; eight step-brothers and step-sisters; a huge host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends; special caregiver and close friend, Lisa Williams; and a special sister-in-love, JoAnn Jones. She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Dwaine Kenneth “Roppa” Thigpen Jr.; her twin sister, Janice Bernita “Pee Wee” Witherspoon; sisters, Shirley Ann Crosby and Mae Ella Morgan; brothers, Harry E. Jones Sr., Joe W. Jones, Robert Jones, Henry Thomas Jones and Clarence Miller Sr.; two step-sisters, Betty Moore and Denise Moore; father, Hal Joe Jones; mother, Janeaster Miller; and her step-father, “Pops”, William H. Miller Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, February 19, 2024 in Restoration Christian Community Church with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Carl E. Miller will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
