James D "Jim" Evans

James Dale “Jim” Evans, 77, of Kimball Township, died Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

He was born December 20, 1946 in Mt. Clemens. He married Linda Sly on June 13, 1970 in Port Huron.

Jim was employed with Cargill Salt for 46 years until his retirement. He umpired baseball and softball for 50 years and also managed a little league team for several years. Jim was also a volunteer with the Kimball Fire Department for 25 years and served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda; two children, James (Marie) Evans and Connie Evans; five grandchildren, Georgia, Siona and Isabella Evans, Grace and Leah Green; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Jane (Karl) Lewandowski and Patricia Walling. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and Randy Evans.

Visitation will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024 in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
