Dona Hagerman Gulley, 91, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
She was born October 15, 1932 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Lillian and Clyde Hagerman of Bloomfield Hills. She married Orrin S. Gulley, Jr. on November 30, 1956 in Birmingham and spent the next 56 years with him until his passing in 2012.
Dona attended Michigan State University and graduated from Stephens College. In her youth, Dona was an enthusiastic equestrian who adored her treasured horse, Tally-Ho. She was a volunteer at Meadow Lake Elementary School. She perfected every craft she started from needlepoint to knitting to beading. There was nothing she couldn’t do. Her work was admired by many, especially those who were lucky enough to receive them as gifts.
She is survived by three children, David (Maria Daversa) Gulley of Marion, Massachusetts, Karen (Alan) Goldman of Ada, Michigan, and Marty (Dr. Gary) James of Port Huron; and five grandchildren, Madison and Hannah Goldman, Morgan, Mackenzie and Garrett James.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Shaun Laurain will officiate.
Inurnment will be in the Allied Veterans Cemetery, Port Huron.
