Karen J Winters

Karen Jane Winters, age 84, of Fort Gratiot, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 29, 2024.

She was born February 17, 1940 in Sandusky to the late William and Irene (Hull) Goodwine. After graduating from Sandusky High School, she moved to Port Huron where she took business classes and then worked at the Port Huron Secretary of State Office for several years. Karen volunteered her time at several places, including McLaren Port Huron Hospital, for much of her life.

Karen was very creative and enjoyed ceramics, embroidery, crocheting, and making ornaments, to name just a few. She also enjoyed photography, working on puzzles, and was an avid reader. Most of all, Karen loved to spend time by the water and watch the ships as they passed by.

Karen is survived by her brother, Gary Goodwine; niece, Jennifer Goodwine; nephews, Shane (Bobbi) Goodwine, Todd (Dawn) Goodwine, and Scott (Patricia) Goodwine; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Curt Goodwine.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Shaun Laurain will officiate.
