Darlene L Adams

Darlene Lorena Adams, 78, of Port Huron passed away surrounded by her family and friends on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

She was born June 17, 1945 in St. Clair and graduated from St. Clair High School. Darlene was employed at Prestolite for 22 years before realizing her dream of opening group homes, DA Residential, which she ran from 1978-2010. She loved all people, but held a special place in her heart for the developmentally disabled. Darlene was a horse-lover who enjoyed both riding and showing. Most importantly, she was a wonderful grandma.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Thomson; four grandchildren, Desiree (James) Suchy, Brandon Harshman, Nicole (Brandon) Eggleston and Bruce Harshman Jr.; fourteen great grandchildren, Katarena, Auston, Landon, Alyssa, Aubrey, Ashley, Hayden, Elliana, Avalyn, Haisley, Bruce III, Loralie, Ethan and Jackson; two great-great grandchildren, Jordan and Xiylah; brother, James Adams; sister, Deborah (Terry) Voyce; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Ty; two great grandchildren, Haylee Nicole Harshman and Jarrin Blaise Eggleston; parents, James R. and Deloris Fraser; and sister-in-law, Susan Adams.

Private family services will be held and burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair.
