Theodora B "Thea" Putze

Theodora Barbara “Thea” Putze, 97, of Port Huron, died Monday, March 11, 2024.

She was born August 1, 1926 in Gleiwitz, Germany to the late Joseph and Magdalena Koschany. She married Alfred H. Putze on September 17, 1955. He died on April 6, 1965.

Thea met her husband, Alfred in Germany and came to the United States in 1955. They lived in Marysville and after her husband’s untimely death of leukemia and lymphoma sarcoma, she raised her four young children by herself. She was employed as a processor for United Technologies for many years before her retirement.

She is survived by four children, Theresa (Tom) Foster, Christina (Wayne) Spitzig, Dolores (Don) Stocker-Deloy and Kirk (Michelle) Putze; grandchildren, Dr. Tanya (Dr. Graham) Holloway, Jeff Spitzig, Kyle (Nicole) Stocker and David (Taylor) Stocker; six great grandchildren, Carter Holloway, Spencer Holloway, Kaden Spitzig, Nathan Stocker, Ryan Stocker and Hazel Stocker. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard and Hans Koschany; and sister, Elisabeth Koschany.

Private graveside services will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
