Richard C Woods

Richard Charles Woods, 78, of Fort Gratiot, died Monday, March 11, 2024.

He was born July 27, 1945 in Harbor Beach to the late Harry and Katherine Woods.

Richard served in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge, he graduated from St. Clair County Community College with an associates degree. He was employed as a ticket agent with Amtrak for over 30 years before his retirement and then worked as a bridge tender. Richard was very involved with his children’s soccer teams and was a past commissioner of AYSO in the 1980’s. He was a volunteer at the Maritime Center and was an active member of Unity Church. He loved boats, going to the beach and being by the water.

He is survived by his son, Christopher (Michelle) Woods; daughter, Katherine (David) Yermak; five grandchildren, Liam and Logan Woods, Carter and Alexander Corpuz and Leah Yermak; and sister, Mary LaPier.

Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Shaun Laurain will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Inurnment will be in the Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium, Port Huron.
