Derrick J Jackson
Derrick Jerrome Jackson, 60, of Port Huron, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
He was born on September 16, 1963 in Port Huron to the late William and Sarah Jackson.
Derrick graduated from Port Huron High School in 1981. While in school he played many sports including football, basketball, and baseball, his favorite, which he continued to play throughout his life. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and working with Evy Edwards pouring asphalt. His love of cooking led him to work at Bob Evans in a job he loved dearly. Derrick also had a silly side and could make a room fill with laughter. He often made silly nicknames for the kids in his life including his favorite, Monkey Mouth.
He is survived by his children, Ashley Jackson, Derrick Jerome (Ashley) Jackson II, Lyndsay Jackson, Jacob Lukas, Journey Jackson, and Janelle Jackson; grandchildren, Arian Combs, Shalena Lofton, Gannon Johnson, Keson Lukas, and Kellan Jackson; great-grandson Anthony Gilford; siblings, Iran (Egeana) Gill and Lori Malcolm; an uncle, Robert Haskins; an aunt, Mary Haskins; special friend and mother of 3 of his children, Gayle Jackson Chambers; sister-in-law, Laurie Jackson Nichols; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother Clifton Jackson.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
