Richard A "Rick" Everitt
Richard Arthur “Rick” Everitt, 74, of Fort Gratiot, was Promoted to Glory Saturday, April 20, 2024.
He was born October 31, 1949 in Port Huron to the late Raymond and Dorothy Everitt. He married Colleen Blanchard on December 17, 1977 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Rick graduated from Port Huron High School and Michigan State University. He was a professional musician for many years before his retirement and was president of RCE Productions. His varied musical career has featured his trumpet and vocal performance in national touring shows, recordings, international television studio orchestras and in the education of young performers at The International School of Minnesota in Eden Prairie. He and his wife ran a summer music camp called the Minnesota Show Choir Camp for 25 years. He also led music worship at All Saints Lutheran Church in Minnetonka, Minnesota. After moving back to his hometown of Port Huron in 2018, he was a faithful member of the Salvation Army Band, continuing the legacy of his grandfather and father as a third-generation band member.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Colleen; daughter, Brittany Smith; two granddaughters, Eliza and Dolly; three siblings, Lynn (Jerome) Braxton, Ronald (Terri) Everitt and David Everitt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 27, 2024 in The Salvation Army Citadel with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
