Obituary

Theresa Ann Stickney, 80, of Fort Gratiot, died Thursday, May 30, 2024.

She was born February 2, 1944 in Port Huron to the late Sidney and Maxine Parrish. She married Wayne L. Stickney on December 29, 1978 in Port Huron and they shared 39 wonderful years together until his death on May 14, 2018.

Theresa graduated from St. Stephen Catholic High School and St. Clair County Community College. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital and for Visiting Nurse Association/Blue Water Hospice for many years. Theresa was a people person who invested in and nurtured relationships. She enjoyed boating with Wayne and will be remembered for her great “dock parties” at Lixies.

She is survived by her children, Kimberly Fleury, Roger (Gina) Fleury and Kevin (Mary-Beth) Fleury; stepson, Rod (Nancy) Stickney Carson; grandchildren, Tiffany (Jeff) Branton, Travis Fleury-Lopez, Kelly, Lisa, and Roger Fleury Jr., Adrienne (Joseph) Hernandez, Christopher and Stephen Fleury, Janae (Michael) Struthers, Tori (Andrew) Ellery, Noelle Fleury, Samantha (Anthony) Gedvick, Daniel and Lucas Fleury; 22 great grandchildren with another on the way; siblings, Sylvia Shaffer, Laura (Gene) Sawdon, Lisa Maes and Gloria (Vern) Collins; sister-in-law, Shirley (Howard) Stein; her extended LaMotte/Howe family; many nieces, nephews and cousins; countless wonderful friends including her “birthday club” and “dog park crew”; and her beloved rescue dog, Cricket. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffry Fleury; siblings, Sidney Parrish, David Parrish, Stanley Parrish and two infant sisters, Linda and Maralou; and brothers-in-law, Charlie Maes and Ronald Shaffer.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Theresa will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2024 in St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church. The Reverend Lee Acervo will officiate. Pallbearers will be Theresa’s grandsons . Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or an animal rescue of the donor’s choice.
