Leonard J Pecore
Leonard John Pecore, 72, of Marysville, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024 after a nearly three-year battle with cancer.
Lenny was born September 6, 1951 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to the late John and Mary Pecore. A lifelong Packer fan, Lenny reminisced about sitting behind Vince Lombardi during Mass during elementary school and climbing the fence at Lambeau Field for games.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, he began waiting tables during college which led to a long career in the restaurant business. Lenny worked for several restaurants across the Midwest and spent 20 years as the General Manager of the River Crab in St. Clair.
Lenny met Julie Ann Neumann in 1989 at the River Crab and they were married on July 13, 1992 in Port Huron. During their 31 years of marriage, they enjoyed many adventures together, including great kayaking trips around the Great Lakes and in lower Michigan.
Lenny was a talented golfer and he especially enjoyed the last few years where he had time to devote to the sport. He was also a culinary guru who loved eating and preparing wonderful meals. During the pandemic, he tried his hand at baking, and his friends and family enjoyed tasting his delicious creations. Lenny found community and was able to help many through his involvement with Alcoholics Anonymous.
He is survived by his wife, Julie; three children, Jared Pecore, Erica Brickner (Joshua Pollard) and Sean (Kelly) Brickner; five grandchildren, Olivia, Ryan, Deacon, Penelope and Adelaide; his dog, Badger; and a sister, Maxine (Ken) Granfors.
Private family services will be held in upper Michigan.
Memorials may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
The family would like to give our deepest thank you to Dr. Hanna and his staff at Karmanos in Port Huron. We also appreciate the wonderful and caring nurses and staff on third floor south at McLaren hospital. From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you.
