Elizabeth "Anne" Moore
Elizabeth “Anne” Moore, 93, of Marysville, formerly of Grosse Pointe Woods, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2024.
She was born September 12, 1930 in Milford to the late Joseph J. and Ruth Wendt. Anne graduated from East Detroit High School and attended Wayne State University before getting her first job at General Motors where she met her future husband, John P. “Jack” Moore. They were married on May 14, 1955 and shared 47 wonderful years together until his death on April 4, 2003.
Anne spent several years working for the City of St. Clair Shores before becoming a full-time caregiver for her mother. She was a longtime member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and dedicated volunteer for the American Red Cross and Blue Water Hospice. A talented golfer, Anne was a member of the St. Clair Golf Club and also enjoyed needlepoint and gardening. She loved the years she spent living in Marysville where she was blessed with the best neighbors. Lunches at the Junction Buoy and freighter watching were some of her favorite pastimes.
Anne is survived by her sister, Mary Catherine Wennerstrom; sisters-in-law, Linda and Beryl Wendt; nieces and nephews, Marilyn Lekki, Ann Wennerstrom, Steven Wendt, Kathleen Goodrow, Richard Wendt Jr., Lisa Mares and Jeff Wendt; and many great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor (Jerry) Yutzi; two brothers, Richard and David Wendt; nephew, Dale Wennerstrom; niece, Cindy Wendt; and brother-in-law, Harold Wennerstrom.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Rosary will be said at 8:00 p.m.
Elizabeth will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Marysville. Father James Arwady will officiate.
Burial will follow in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
