Judith Ann Bailey Ward

Judith Ann Bailey-Ward, 82, of Goodells, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 6, 1941 in Ann Arbor to the late Donald H. and Frances M. Bailey. She was friends with Frederick Ward for 60 years before she finally said “yes” and they were married on May 30, 1998 in McMorran Place, Port Huron.

Judy was an avid outdoorswoman who loved spending time up North at the cabin in Clear Lake and enjoyed fishing and pheasant hunting. She was a 30-year member of Avoca United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Fred; son, Fred James Ward Jr.; daughter, Sarah Ward (Richard Kippen); granddaughter, Chloe Kippen (Dustin VanHorn); sister, Debbie Williams (Dave Pauly); three sisters-in-law, Emma Click, Pauline Ward and Alice (Gary) Mericle; brother-in-law, Kenneth Matthews; uncle, Vern “Wayne” Bailey; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a son, Marty John Ward.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024 in Avoca United Methodist Church. Joseph Fetterly will officiate. A luncheon at the church will follow. Burial will be in Ruby Cemetery at a later date.
