John J "Jack" Scagel

John J. “Jack” Scagel, 93, of Marysvillle, died Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

He was born February 8, 1931 in Somerville, Massachusetts, to the late James and Ruth Scagel. He married Marie Dunn on December, 29, 1975 in Port Huron.

Jack served in the U.S. Air Force for 6 years including during the Korean War. He was a member of the Marysville American Legion Post #449. After his time in the military, he hauled boats for Chris-Craft. He retired from the Teamsters in 1989 after 35 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marie; three children, Susan (Ronald) Filauro, Lynne Trombley-Walker and Scott Trombley; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Scagel.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Marysville. Father James Arwady will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society.
