Alfreda "Freda" Schumacher

Alfreda Angela “Freda” Schumacher, 75, of Marysville, died peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Blue Water Hospice Home, surrounded by her family.

She was born August 23, 1948 in London, Ontario, Canada to the late Alfred and Emily Davis. She married Jackie “Jack” Schumacher on January 18, 1975 in Fort Gratiot. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2022 after 47 years of marriage.

Freda was raised in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada and graduated from the Sarnia Collegiate Institute and Technical School. She was employed at the Sarnia Credit Bureau as a reporting clerk before marrying Jack and moving to Michigan.

She is survived by her son, David Schumacher; siblings, Eloise (Jack), Jackie (David), Peggy (Stephen), Jenny (Bob), Theresa, Joe (Debbie) and Vickie; numerous nieces and nephews; and will be lovingly missed by her cats, Fonzie and Joanie. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Marjorie, Patty, Norma, Fred and Jim.

A memorial event for both Freda and Jack will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 in the Marysville American Legion.
