Patricia Ellen “Patty” DiLaura Klecha, 72, of Marysville, died Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

She was born June 25, 1952 in Detroit to the late Emidio C. and Albina M. DiLaura. Patty graduated from East Detroit High School in 1970 and attended Wayne State University and the Catholic Biblical School of Michigan. She met John E. Klecha while they were students at Wayne State and they were married on December 15, 1973 in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in East Detroit.

Patty worked as a bookkeeper for several local Catholic parishes and an accounting office. In the twilight of her career, she served as a substitute teacher at Holy Cross Catholic School. Patty was a devout and dedicated woman of faith and current member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. Her faith and her large family were the most important parts of her life.

Patty is survived by her husband of 50 years, John; children, David Klecha (Tarri Sanford), Joseph Klecha (Liz Alvarez), Mary Louise Klecha, Charlie Klecha (Dr. Julie Lesnik), Dr. Peter Klecha (Julia Goldsmith-Pinkham); grandchildren, Anthony Joseph Klecha, Alastair Klecha, Alexa Marie Klecha, Call Joseph Klecha, Finn David Klecha, Emile John DiLaura-Pinkham and Agnès Charles DiLaura-Pinkham; siblings, Dennis (Christine) DiLaura, Barbara (Harry) Roberts, Kenneth (Joan) DiLaura, and her twin sister, Kathleen (Dennis) Rohmyer; Godmother, Julia “Judy” DiLaura; 17 nieces and nephews; 21 great nieces and nephews; and about one million first, second, third, fourth…twelfth cousins. In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her Godfather, Eugene DiLaura; and grandparents, Eugenio and Josephine DiLaura and Luigi and Lusietta D’Orazio.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024 in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Klecha will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024 in St. Christopher Catholic Church.

Burial will be Monday in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township. Pallbearers will be her family.

Patty actively supported St. Christopher Catholic Church, Catholic Biblical School of Michigan and St. Paul Street Evangelization and memorials to these organizations would be appreciated.
