Gary Alvin Walter, 79, of Fort Gratiot, died Thursday, July 4, 2024.
He was born July 18, 1944 in Port Huron to the late James and Nora Walter. He married Sandra Lee “Sandy” Wier on November 19, 1966 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on May 4, 2021.
Gary served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed as a fleet supervisor with Mueller Brass for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of both the Port Huron Lodge #58 F. & A.M and Brockway Lodge #316 F. & A.M.
He is survived by two sons, Keith (Michele) Walter and Kevin (Mona) Walter; honorary son, Nathan (Louise) Thomas; three grandchildren, Katelyn, Ava and Luke Walter; sister, Phyllis (James) Stockstill; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeri Sue Dobson.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Celebrant Laurie Wilson will officiate.
Burial will be in Ruby Cemetery, Clyde Township. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
