Joan Miller
Loretta Joan Miller, 90, of Fort Gratiot, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 7, 2024.
She was born January 30, 1934 in Port Huron to the late John and Loretta Green. She married Ronald W. Miller on June 6, 1953 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1996 after 43 years of marriage.
Joan was involved in Youth for Christ as a teenager and enjoyed years of friendship with those friends. Later, she attended Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music. She was employed at North American Benefit Association for over 25 years before her retirement. Her greatest love was her faith and her family. She enjoyed many summers at Otsego Lake and camping in their RV. She loved taking care of her home and garden and enjoyed traveling the world. She was very involved in the activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She traveled for many years to Florida during the winter to spend time with family. She was a very active member of Ross Bible Church for many years where she played the piano, led the choir and was a church secretary. She later attended and sang in the choir at Colonial Woods Missionary Church. Her favorite verse was Isaiah 40:31 “…but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
She is survived by two sons, James (Roseann) Miller and John (Margaret) Miller; twelve beloved grandchildren, Ronald (Erin) Miller III, Andrew (Bethany) Miller, Jody Morris, Justin (Jen) Beagan, Erin (Craig) Cassady, Joshua (Jenni) Miller, Emily (Jordan) Gillette, John (Alyse) Miller, Jr., Michele (Josh) Fassler, Alexander (Daiana) Miller-Tzenovi, Stephen Miller and Noah Miller; 26 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Miller, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Kathleen Miller; and brother, Jack Green and sister-in-law, Joy Green.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, in Colonial Woods Missionary Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Brian Ake will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joan’s grandchildren . Memorial contributions may be made to Hope FM Radio Station or Colonial Woods Missionary Church. To send condolences, visit pollockrandall.com.
