Michael G Wakeham Sr.

Michael Gerald Wakeham Sr., 73, of Grant Township, died Tuesday, July 16, 2024 after a two-year battle with cancer.

He was born August 18, 1950 in Port Huron to the late Gerald and Elizabeth Wakeham. He married Luanne Labatzky on July 8, 2006 at their home in Jeddo.

Michael served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era in Norway. He was employed as a master electrician with Domtar for over 40 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building, tinkering with things and watching the Detroit Tigers. Michael especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Luanne; children, Michael (Stephanie) Wakeham Jr., Scott Hollis and P.J. (Nikki) Hollis; step-children, Lesley and Lisa Rummel; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Connie Nordberg and Pat (John) Roberts; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Moss; and nephew, Jeffrey Roberts.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. Shaun Laurain will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Marine Corps and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
