Shellie A. Andrews

August 15th, 1961 to July 25th, 2024

Shellie Ann Andrews, 62, of Marysville, died unexpectedly after surgery on Thursday, July 25, 2024.

She was born August 15, 1961 in St. Clair.

Shellie was a jack of all trades. She was employed as a police officer with the City of Detroit and later co-owned Busted Bail Bonds where she handled bail enforcement and fugitive recovery. She also worked as a security officer for many hospitals. Always full of ideas and a budding entrepreneur, Shellie operated many small businesses over the years with her sister, Gail: Custom Stichez t-shirts, Wine Caddies & More, the Weenie Wagon, and Chilly Willy’s ice cream truck. She was a Jeep and Batman fanatic. Shellie was an animal lover who especially enjoyed taking care of her parrot, cat, dog, and chickens. More than anything in the world, she adored her grandchildren and was incredibly proud of them.

She is survived by her children, Arica (Dave) Johnson and Andrea “Ann” (Ulmil “Del”) De La Torre; five grandchildren, Lucas Johnson, Nakoa, Mirah, Amaia and Kehlani De La Torre, with one on the way, Owen Johnson; sister, Gail Silvernail; cousins, Joe (Patty) Stephan and Joey (Kim) Stephan; and her daughters Godfather, Jerry Jowett. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice McHugh and step-father, Wayne King.

Visitation will be held from 12-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Shellie would want everyone to be comfortable, so casual dress is requested.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. To send condolences, visit marysvillefuneralhome.com
