The Reverend Jane E Rathman

The Reverend Jane Elizabeth Rathman, 76, of Fort Gratiot Township, died Saturday, July 27, 2024.

She was born May 28, 1948 in Buffalo, New York to the late Woodrow and Dorothy Rathman. She married The Reverend William Wingrove on December 13, 1974 in Buffalo.

Jane graduated from Buffalo State University with a bachelor’s degree and received her Master’s in Divinity from Colgate Rochester Divinity School. She loved to sing and was in several church choirs and Port Huron Musicale. She served the United Church of Christ in churches in Royal Oak, Michigan, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Casco Township, Michigan. She also enjoyed gardening and will be remembered for her deep devotion and loyalty to family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, The Reverend William Wingrove; daughter, The Reverend Rebekah Rathman-Wingrove; sister, Marianne Rathman; brother-in-law, David Wingrove (Ann Borkhuis); and many friends and parishioners.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 in St. John's United Church of Christ, Port Huron with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Michelle Brown will officiate.
