Obituary

Dagmar Marie Malstrom, 82, of Canton, died Sunday, July 28, 2024 in Port Huron, Michigan.

She was born April 18, 1942 in Detroit to the late Walfred O. and Eleanore M. Erickson. She married Gerald Malstrom on July 1, 1972 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2017 after 45 years of marriage.

Dagmar graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit. She was employed as a cashier at General Motors for 20 years and then was employed at the National Bank of Detroit until her retirement. She was a lifelong Lutheran, attending St. Olaf Church in Detroit and Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Farmington Hills. She and Gerald were very proud of their Swedish and Finnish heritage. They were active at the Finnish Cultural Center in Farmington Hills, Michigan and Dagmar sang with the Finnish American Singers. She was also a longtime Detroit Tigers fan.

She is survived by her sister, Karen (Thomas) Teichman of Sun City West, Arizona; and two nephews, Jon (Laura) Teichman of Marquette, Michigan and Marc Teichman, of Boulder, Colorado.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Shirley Moerdyk, Spiritual Director from Lower Michigan N/W Synod of ELCA and Sr. Rita Ann Teichman, Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph will officiate.

Burial will be in Glen Eden Memorial West, Livonia.
