Mark M DeHate

August 1st, 1955 to July 31st, 2024

Mark Michael DeHate, 68, of Riley Township, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

He was born on August 1, 1955, in Mount Clemens to the late Dayton F. DeHate and Mabel V. Smith. He met and fell in love with Pamela Sue La Belle and the two were married on August 18, 1977, at St. Louis Church in Mount Clemens.

In 1973, Mark graduated from Mount Clemens High School. He spent his working years as a fabricator, creating new ways to solve difficult problems, but was now proudly retired. An avid outdoorsman and sportsman, Mark especially enjoyed hunting and shooting. He also loved going to the casino and betting. His granddaughters were the light of his life and he was happiest when he was with them.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pam; two sons, Dayton (Megan) DeHate and Mark M. DeHate Jr. (Jess Krause); two grandchildren, Savannah and London; a sister-in-law, Darlene DeHate; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were like family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce (Gary) Mooney; and his brother, Richard DeHate.

Private family services have been held.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Karmanos Cancer Institute of Mount Clemens.
