Carl A. Mutschler Jr.

Carl Albert Mutschler Jr., 79, of Kimball Township, died Sunday, August 18, 2024.

He was born July 13, 1945 in Waco, Texas to the late Carl A. and Catherine M. Mutschler.

Carl was a Nuclear Submarine Electrician for the U.S. Navy, where he was stationed aboard nuclear subs, USS James Monroe, USS Trepang, USS Groton and USS Boston, and retired after 20 years and one day of service. He then worked for New Jersey Power and Electric and retired after several years. He enjoyed camping and shooting.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine; daughter, Kelly (Kevin) Rasmussen; six grandchildren; five siblings, Cathy Khoury, Pat (Jim) David, Dave (Kim) Mutschler, Robert (Pam) Mutschler and Roberta Masciangioli; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Debbie Gambino; and brother-in-law, Edward Santagel.

Private family services will be held in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
