Robert J Mason

Robert John “Bob” Mason Sr., 63, of Fort Gratiot, Michigan passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, August 18, 2024.

He was born November 14, 1960 in Port Huron to the late Lawrence and Verlyn Mason. He married the love of his life, Renee Galbraith on February 14, 1985 in Port Huron.

Bob retired from Mueller Brass after 36 years working in the traffic department as a truck driver. He was an amazing lead guitarist and played in several bands over the years, including Believe or Not, Exit Stage Left, Vengeance, Titan, and Renegade. He loved animals and was a huge movie buff. He also enjoyed cruising around the family farm in his UTV side by side. Bob was affectionate, caring, compassionate, and very humorous with an infectious smile. Above all, he was extremely loving. Bob’s family was his greatest joy in life, especially his grandson.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Renee Mason; children, William (Courtney) Mason, Jessica (Andrew) Cook; grandson, Mason Cook; and brother, David (Lesli) Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Verlyn Mason; oldest son, Robert J. “Bobby” Mason Jr.; and brothers, Larry Mason and Dan Mason.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
