Edward R Klaas

Edward Richard Klaas, 92, of Kimball Township, died Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

He was born November 17, 1931 in Port Huron to the late Edward H. R. and Lillian Klaas.

Edward was a 1949 graduate of Port Huron High School. After graduation, he joined the service and spent three years as an Airman in the U.S. Navy. Upon returning home, Ed worked as a machine operator at Prestolite Wire for 35 years until his retirement. He was a proud veteran and member of American Legion J. Edward Mallorey Post #449.

Ed is survived by his step-son, Dannie Klaas; granddaughter, Jordan Klaas; siblings, Janet Hoy, Carol Coggins and Dennis Klaas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, June Lambert.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium, Port Huron. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
