Mary M Haas

Mary Margaret Haas, 78, of Port Huron Township, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024 in the Blue Water Hospice Home.

She was born January 12, 1946 in Port Huron to the late Charles and Madelene Rigney. Mary met Richard A. Haas through mutual friends and they were married on May 27, 1967 in Sandusky, Michigan.

Mary enjoyed sewing, doing crafts and working in the yard. She was a member of the Air Force Officer’s Wives Club and was the Worship Coordinator for the Maxwell Air Force Base Catholic Chapel Program.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard “Dick”; daughter, Melissa (Rick) Evans; son, Jeffery Haas; granddaughter, Megan (Christopher) Schieren; great grandchildren, Theodore and Maxwell Schieren; and two brothers, James (Vickie) Rigney and John (Camille) Rigney. She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Haas; and sister, Sharon Pearson.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Mary will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 in Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Reverend Bradley Forintos will officiate.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Sandusky. Pallbearers will be Tom and Jim Pearson, Richard Evans, Robert Dral, Brian Chisholm and John Rigney.
