Eugene D Cadaret

Eugene Duane Cadaret, 72, of Clyde Township, died Sunday, September 29, 2024.

He was born November 19, 1951 in Pontiac to the late Earl D. and Ellen B. Cadaret. He married his high school sweetheart, Heather L. Schaefer on March 4, 1972 in Port Huron.

Eugene was a 1971 graduate of Port Huron High School, attended St. Clair County Community College and received training as an electrician and in electrical instrumentation. He worked for Morton Salt until they closed and then Port Huron Paper/ Domtar until his retirement. Gene loved NASCAR and hanging with his buddies in the garage.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Heather; three children, Kelly (Arlene) Cadaret, Monica Cadaret and Jason Cadaret; nine grandchildren, Dylan, Melissa, Freddy and Emma Cadaret, Amber (Zach) Ogle, Casey (Dylan) Gorman and Michael Cadaret and Kaeden and Rylan Cadaret; sister, Elaine (John) Hofmann; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Ostrander; brother-in-law, Bruce (Cheri) Schaefer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special nephew, Steven Hornbostel, who was more like a son to Gene. He was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Sloan; and brother, Earl Cadaret.

Private family services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society.
