Eric Brackenbury

God took Eric James Brackenbury, 43, of Port Huron and Kalkaska home to be with Him and his family who loved him very much Friday, October 4, 2024.

He was born April 14, 1981 in Gaylord, Michigan.

Eric had a very kind heart and would help anyone including hauling furniture and driving people to appointments. He enjoyed living up north where he did landscaping in the summer and was a snowboard instructor in the winter. He enjoyed snowboarding, mushroom hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his mother, Susan Brackenbury; sister, Michelle Sterosky; niece, Jaylin Rose; nephew, Wyatt James; aunt, Jill (Fred) Brackenbury-Davis; Godmother and cousin, Janeen (Tom) Brackenbury-Loughren; cousins, Becky Reno and Maryann Reynolds; many other aunts, uncles and cousins; and great friend, Brett Beller. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Joyce Brackenbury; uncle, Michael Brackenbury; and friend, Jason Florino.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024 in Lakeside Cemetery. Dr. Roxie Davis and The Reverend Kathy Tessin will officiate.

Following his death, Eric became Donor Hero as he saved at least three people through organ donation.
