Cathy J "Nu-Nu" Artman
Cathy Jo “Nu-Nu” Artman (Cedar), 70, passed away peacefully and quietly in her home on Sunday, October 6, 2024 with her family by her side.
She was born August 19, 1954, the first child of the late Margaret A. “Peggy” and William E. “Bill” Cedar Sr.
Cathy graduated from St. Clair High School in 1972 and was the number one bartender at Burkharts Bar. She graduated cosmetology school and later obtained her LPN degree from St. Clair County Community College.
Cathy simply loved life, and especially enjoyed traveling, tequila, basking in the sun, and music. She loved going to concerts with her girls, and was always singing songs by Tim McGraw or ones she made up herself. Cathy’s laughter was contagious. She had a knack for striking up conversation with complete strangers and would always say, “you make your own fun.” She loved watching her grandsons, Jayden and Allen, play basketball and her grandson, Bryce, play T-ball. She adored her entire family and would give anything for them.
She is survived by her six children, Rodney (Angie) Sharrow, Kurt (Angie) Sharrow, Joe (Rosa) Sharrow, Tim (Shay) Sharrow, Amanda Sharrow, and Erin Sharrow (Jeff Moses); grandchildren, Aubree, Dalton, Alex, Carter, Ella, Joey, Luke, Hailey, Jayden, Allen, and Bryce; great grandchildren; siblings, Bill (Karen) Cedar, Mike (Tracy) Cedar, Carol (Mike) Zimmer, JoAnn (Ken) Trepiak, and Piglie; and many nieces and nephews who she loved deeply. She was preceded in death by her daughter, “the family angel”, Allison; and her husband, her final love, Bob.
A party to honor Cathy’s life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 2-9 p.m. at the St. Clair American Legion, Clinton Avenue.
