Beverly J Bernum

Beverly Jo Ann Bernum, 74, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

She was born October 23, 1949 in Port Huron to the late Rex and Beverly Louks. She married W. Robert “Bob” Bernum on August 21, 1971 in Port Huron.

Beverly received a Bachelor’s Degree and then a Master’s Degree from Michigan State University. She was a Kindergarten Teacher for Port Huron Area Schools for 39 years before her retirement in June 2010. A longtime member of First United Methodist Church, she was active in the vocal choir as well as in the Bells of Praise. She also used her musical talents to play in the Pine River Legacy Band. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Beverly was an avid sewer and was a member of the “Sew Crazy Quilters.”

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bob; three children, Melisa (Daniel) Schaub; Matthew Bernum and Mark (Colleen) Bernum; two grandchildren, Lucas and Keira Schaub; two brothers, Randy (Sandy) Louks and Daniel (Julie) Louks; several nieces and nephews; and her sewing partner and sister-in-law, Barbara Roddy

Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2024 in Colonial Woods Missionary Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Phil Whetstone and the Reverend Grant Lobb will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
