Marilynn J Gorham

Marilynn Jean Gorham, 93, of Marysville, died Friday, October 18, 2024.

She was born January 27, 1931 in Marysville to the late Currie and Dora McCartney. She married Raymond C. Gorham on August 11, 1956 in St. Stephen Catholic Church. He died April 8, 2005.

Marilynn attended Mills School and graduated as class salutatorian from Marysville High School in 1949. She graduated from Central Michigan University where she was a member of Theta Sigma Upsilon sorority and Kappa Delta Pi honor fraternity. She began her teaching career in Warren and returned to Marysville High School where she taught English and was the school librarian for 30 years, retiring in 1987. Marilynn was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, local, state and national Education Associations, the Elks Vivians, Women of the Moose, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Port Huron Museum and the Port Huron Musicale. She enjoyed reading and hockey and especially liked to keep in touch with former students.

She is survived by her brother, Carl (Gale) Limberg; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and George Limberg; and a sister, Karen Limberg.

Graveside committal services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Riverlawn Cemetery Columbarium, Marysville. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.
