Marlyn Lubbert
Marlyn E. “Marv” Lubbert, 80, of Fort Gratiot, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 31, 2012 after a long illness.
He was born April 25, 1931 in Port Huron to the late Ervin and Verneta Lubbert. He married Barbara Miller on November 12, 1954 in Port Huron.
Mr. Lubbert graduated from Port Huron High School and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed with Huron Pipe & Supply until his retirement. He enjoyed working around the house fixing and tinkering with things. He was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Gary (Phyllis) Lubbert and Richard “Rick” (Rose) Lubbert; six grandchildren, Amy, Andrew, Natalie, Michelle, Kristin and Brent Lubbert; a sister, Delores Roberts; a sister-in-law, Joan Gaffigan; a brother-in-law, Leonard Miller and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012 in St. Martin Lutheran Church with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Bill Austin will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium. Military honors will be provided by the Michigan Army National Guard Funeral Detail.
