Edward E Burtch
Edward Eugene Burtch, 80, of Port Huron, died Thursday, November 28, 2024.
He was born February 4, 1944 in Detroit to the late Edward and Ruth Burtch. Edward served in the U.S. Air Force. After his honorable discharge he received an Associates Degree in Horticulture from St. Clair County Community College. He was employed at Port Huron Hospital for many years and was a Base Drummer for the Blue Water Fife Band. An active member of Port Huron Assembly of God Church, he served as lay pastor, deacon and head usher and enjoyed singing. He was a former Chaplain for American Legion J. Edward Mallorey Post #449 and a life member of the North American Hunt Club.
He is survived by three daughters, Michelle (Roy) Burtch-DeWitt, Vicki Jean Lasher and Elizabeth (Andrew) Lacy; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother, Dan (Bessie) Burtch; brother-in-law, Robert Ainsworth; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and other family, many who live in California. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ashlee Nedrow; and four siblings, Mike Burtch, Ruth “Tena” Ainsworth, Bill Burtch and James Burtch.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024 at the Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium, Port Huron. The Reverend Joe Sazyc will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
